Three runners at three different tracks today, which left things stretched at home !

The highlight was KAYF BLANCO winning his second race in 2 weeks, this time at Ludlow – not bad for a horse that many had written off after a long string of placed, but winless runs ! I’d be the first to admit that we were a bit lucky on this on occasion – although it would have been a battle, I think the long-leader still looked just in control when she fell 2 out. Still, delighted for Kayf and his owners. We’ll have a think where next, but I like the look of the consolation race at Kempton on the Saturday afternoon Cheltenham.

SAMMYLOU followed up his fine win last time out with a placed effort at Taunton. He was just caught out a bit by the combination of softer ground and the step up in trip, and looked a tired horse at the end. He’ll definitely get 3 miles, but probably only on better ground until he strengthens up a bit more.

PADDYS RUNNER also ran a good race in defeat at Kempton on the all weather. He looked as though he would be swamped when they quickened past him off the final bend, but he stayed on – as he always does ! – and was coming back into it late on. He really does need a thorough test of stamina these days.
