BOLDMERE looked very over-priced on the strength of his form at Warwick last time out – not that far behind the winner BIRCHDALE, and with winners from the places since – and so it proved, with a pillar to post victory at a big price at Market Rasen today. A beautifully judged ride from the front by Kielan – never easy – getting everything stretched out, and then kicking on in the home straight. BOLDMERE is still growing up, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him improve again.
MY CHARITY was back over hurdles after 2 falls over fences on his last 2 starts, and he never really got into the race. The field got very stretched very early, and although he made some late headway, he wasn’t able to challenge the leaders. Next time, and slightly better ground, should see him seen to better effect.
FOLLOW THE SWALLOW completed the trio today, and the going was just too soft for him. He’ll have a short break and then return for the spring ground.
