Two at Chepstow today on Welsh Grand National Day, and both just struggled in the tacky ground.

I thought today could be SKIPTHECUDDLES’ day, but it wasn’t to be – he likes things to go his own way, and when he couldn’t get ahead at the bottom of the hill, he rather spat the dummy out. He’s better than that, and will have his day in the sun over fences soon. WILDE WATER travelled well until hitting the softest part of the course at the end of the back straight, when he began to paddle. He came home in his own time, and will have benefitted from the experience, but he’s another for whom better ground is a must at this stage of his career.
